My week in review

It's been a topsy turvy week even if I didn't really get much work done. Ron's been unwell but that will pass. It took a few days to recover from the weekend down the coast but we're both fine now. I did manage to get a couple of bags finished in time for the markets. My clothing range looks like taking off soon. At least I hope so. There's a lot of support out there for the sustainability cause. Had a lovely day, met some really nice people and had a few laughs along the way. Life's good.

Light bulbs go off!

What day is it today? oh yeah, it's Tuesday. I sometimes forget, things get out of whack. I had a couple of days at the coast with friends, it was gorgeous! Some tourist stuff including a wine tasting at Cupitt's winery...yummy! We even went for a swim, the water was so warm and the air mild. Aaah...bliss! Now it's back to work. I didn't get anything done yesterday, still recovering from the weekend. Today I plan to get started on some new designs...clothes this time. I had one of those light bulb moments at some ungodly hour! Why is it I do my best designing in my sleep!!!

What's My Style?

I was asked the other day what style of clothes I design. At first I said all styles but on reflection I've decided it's rather an eclectic style incorporating retro with a slightly modern twist as well as a relaxed smart casual if that makes sense.

I'm not much for flouncy frills and loads of detail. I prefer a more organic simple approach to designing. You know the old saying less is more. I like something that reminds me of the simpler times of days gone by. Maybe that's why retro appeals to me so much. But I also like classic styles, the pencil skirt and blazer or a well-cut trouser and crisp white shirt.

Today I'm making skirts, some short others knee length. I'll team these with simple tops which would go just as nicely with a cardigan as a blazer. Hmm maybe I'll make a cardigan style jacket too.
