Work in Progress

This is how I began my morning....nice and neat, well organised, full of energy.....and how did it turn out? Well, let's just say you can't make an omelette without breaking a few eggs! I try to stay neat and tidy but the creative spirit isn't always accommodating.....and besides, designers are not always neat and tidy!

Black and White

I love using unusual media in my handbags whether it's vinyl, leather, fabric.

Here, I have used a combination of black and white nylon mesh for the outer shell, off-white vinyl for the lining, leather with metal slides and clasp for the closure and braided cord for the shoulder strap.

I think the texture of the mesh is great....and the best part, this bag is hand washable, no cardboard used for stiffening.

What do you think? Have you ever seen a classier use for shade-cloth and an old handbag (that's the lining!)

Designs on the drawing board

Something colourful! Cotton and linen will be used to create comfortable fun outfits for all occasions.

On the left, we have a jacket/dress in a bold geometric print with hot pink, terracotta, orange and black on a white background. It has an asymmetrical front buttoning to a wide waistband, hi-low hemline. Team this with a simple white pencil skirt for a very smart look.

The outfit on the right has the same cotton jacket in hot pink cotton worn over an orange front buttoning top with wide shoulders straps tucked into high-waisted full leg shorts in a striking Chevron print in orange and pink.

Something different for the office. The black linen jacket has an asymmetyrical front with a contrasting one-sided double collar. There are pleated tucks above and below the wide waistband for extra comfort.

The hot pink A-line skirt has a contrasting black and white panel just left of centre.
Everyone needs a great pair of black trousers. Here we have a high-waisted design with side slant pockets and an inverted box pleat and tab front just below the knee to the hem.

The front buttoning top has a contrasting yoke with wide shoulder straps and slightly plunging back.
